Formed in Baltimore in late 1969, Maypole released their debut LP on Colossus in 1971 and their sound was soon compared to Cream, Iron Butterfly, Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix. Bluesy hard psych vibes, strong melodies and nice group harmonies are the magical ingredients that help making this record an amazing piece of hard rock music. Their label’s closure and a relocation to Holland would lead to the band’s break-up in 1972, but this outstanding album sounds today as powerful as the day it came out.

Formados en Baltimore a finales de 1969, Maypole publicaron su LP de debut en Colossus en 1971 y su sonido enseguida despertó comparaciones con Cream, Iron Butterfly, Led Zeppelin y Jimi Hendrix.
Aires blueseros y de psych duro, potentes melodías y estupendas armonías son los ingredientes mágicos que hacen de este disco una maravillosa pieza de rock duro. El cierre de su sello y su traslado a Holanda provocarían el final del grupo en 1972, pero este magnífico álbum sigue sonando hoy tan poderoso como el día que se publicó.
